Good afternoon Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for this very short week.  First we would like to congratulate our Students of the Week, Willow Youg in 4th grade and Bry’nasia Wallop in Kindergarten.  Willow is super helpful to her teachers and her classmates.  Bry’nasia has been working very hard and she has been pushing her friends on the swing at recess.  Way to go to both of these young ladies who model the Woodson Way!  We are proud of you!

Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Ms. Maura Dean.  Ms. Dean is a 3rd grade teacher at WES.  Ms. Dean encourages her students to do their best and she is always volunteering where she is needed at the school.  Thank you Ms. Dean for all of your hard work!

We are very excited to welcome all of our students and staff back tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3rd for the New Year.  We hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, and safe holiday break with family and friends.  Tomorrow is a ‘C’ Day.

There will be no after school tutoring this week.  Tutoring will resume next week.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Sarah Klabe, our Guidance Counselor.

Thursday, January 4th, we will have our rescheduled Parent & Teacher conferences from 4:05-6:00 pm.  Following after we will have our Band and Choir Winter Concert as well.  Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like a conference.  As always, if you are feeling under the weather, please do not attend the conferences or concert.  We can reschedule your conference for another time and we certainly understand.   This is for the safety and health of all of our students and staff.

A special message from Mrs. Jones about the Holiday Concert: The Woodson Waves Band and Choir concert will be at 6:15 in Woodson's gymnasium.  Doors will open at 5:30. Starting at 5:45, choir students should report to the library to get lined up and the band students should report to the music room to get their instruments ready.  If your family is bringing a treat for the reception after the concert, you can drop it off in the music room Wednesday morning. Students may wear their "Sunday best" or uniform. Please no jeans or sweatpants. We are looking forward to a wonderful performance to close out Woodson's Holiday concert season!

Please send your child with a water bottle, so they can get water from our water coolers.  In addition, please make sure they have a school appropriate sweater or crew neck sweatshirt to wear over their uniform shirt, as the temperature is getting colder.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.  Have a great evening!
