Good evening, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week. Congratulations to our phenomenal Woodson Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs. Danielle Crockett. Mrs. Crockett provides a caring and nurturing environment to our Pre-K 4 students, building their foundational skills and fostering a love of learning. We are so very proud of Mrs. Crockett and wish her the very best of luck as she continues on to compete at the county level. Also, a very special congratulations goes to our TOY runners up, Ms. Bell, Mrs. Taylor Evans, Mrs. Allison Grove, and Mrs. Bennett.
More celebrations for our Staff Member of the Week, Ms. Jiah Johnson in 2nd grade. Ms. Johnson is an amazing teacher that loves her students and works very hard, often coming in early and staying late. Way to go Ms. Johnson.
Our Students of the Week are Malachi Corbin in Kindergarten and Ava Broyles in 4th Grade. Malachi is such a kind friend to his classmates. He always volunteers to help. Ava is also a helper. She is caring, kind, and hardworking. Both of these students exhibit the Woodson Way!!!
Monday, February 26th will kick off our Book Fair, which will go through Friday, March 1st. Students may attend the Book Fair during their Specials or with an adult that has permission to take them to the Book Fair. All students will be able to preview the Book Fair tomorrow. Students will only be permitted to attend if they have money or a parent or guardian has set up an e-wallet for them.
There will be no Band or Choir after school on Tuesday, February 27th.
On Wednesday, February 28th, there will be a casual day to raise money for a Woodson Family in Need. Students must pay $1 and staff $2 to participate. Students must adhere to the dress code for a casual day. No hoodies are permitted on a casual or uniform day. Students may wear jeans, but they cannot have any holes, rips, or shreds in them, or holes with patches behind them even if they were purchased that way. Students must wear a shirt that covers their stomach, no mid-drift or crop top shirts are allowed.
Thursday, February 29th, will be a free casual day for all as it is the last day of the month of February.
