Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for this coming week. Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mr. Zach Cravitz. Mr. Cravitz has a devotion to his students that is unmatched. He comes in early and is always willing to help, listen to other’s ideas, and give his all for his students. Way to go Mr. Cravitz!!!!
Congratulations to the Students of the Week, Siddik Koltuk and Alayah Dowden, both in 2nd grade. Siddik always has a positive attitude in the classroom. He works hard and follows directions every day. Alayahis being celebrated for being an excellent role model and always shows kindness to other classmates and willing to help anyone. Thank you both for being awesome Woodson Waves!!! We are very proud of you!!!
This week we are celebrating Read Across America Week. We will have a free themed dress day daily. Students and staff are welcome to participate. The different days attire are associated with popular children’s books. If students choose not to dress with the theme, then they must wear their school uniform.
Monday, March 4th- “Don’t Let Pidgeon Stay Up Late” – Wear your favorite school appropriate pajamas
Tuesday, March 5th- “The Day the Crayons Quit” – Dress in all one color
Wednesday, March 6th- “Lila Greer Teacher of the Year” – Dress as your future career or in college gear
Thursday, March 7th – “Where the Wild Things Are” – Dress up as an animal, in animal print, or in camouflage
Friday, March 8th – “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot” – Dress in sports gear or a jersey
This Thursday, March 7th will be our 5th Grade annual African American Living Wax Museum. The exhibit will be in the WES Gymnasium. Mrs. Miller’s and Mrs. Grove’s classes will be from 10:00 -11:00 am. Ms. Holland’s and Mr. Laird’s classes will be from 2:00-3:00 pm. Please bring your license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 system to ensure safety for students and staff. You may want to arrive a few minutes early to check in in the front office.
Midterms will go home on Friday, March 8th. Please be on the look out for them in your child’s bookbag.
Looking ahead to next week, Joe Corbi fundraiser orders will be ready for pick up on Monday March 11th from 3:00-4:15 pm.
Next Wednesday, March 13th will be Parent & Teacher Conferences from 4:05-6:05 pm.
Just a reminder; all car riders need to be at the door by 8:55 am or those students will be marked tardy.
