Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week.  Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Jen Bennett.  Mrs. Bennett works with all her students very well.  She makes sure that all of her students’ needs are met and they have the tools they need to succeed.  She also cares about the well-being of her colleagues.  Thanks for being a rockstar!!!

Congratulations to our Students of the Week, Miguel Rojas Hernandez in 5th grade, and Annalee Hernandez in 2nd grade.  Miguel is such a good role model to others.  He always tries his best in everything he does.  He took the time to come to show how his awesome trebuchet worked to the 4th grade GT students so they know what they will be building next year in GT.  Annalee is kind and helpful.  She always tries her best and shows the Woodson Way.  Great job Miguel and Annalee.

On behalf of the Staff and Students at WES, we would like to wish all of the mothers, grandmothers, and other ladies that are mother figures and care for our students a very Happy Mother’s Day!!!  We hope you are able to enjoy your day!

School will be closed on Tuesday, May 14th due to the Primary Election.

Quarter 4 Midterms will be distributed to students on Wednesday, May 15th.  Please be on the lookout for your child’s midterm.

Choir will be on Wednesday, May 15th, instead of Tuesday this week.  If you are attending the choir trip, it is very important that you are at practice.  The choir trip to Busch Gardens is on Friday, May 17th.  Students who are attending the trip, should arrive to Woodson between 6:45 and 7:00 am.  Meet Mrs. Jones outside by the picnic tables.  The bus will be leaving at 7:00 am sharp.  More details about the trip will be coming home with the choir students this week.

Thursday, May 16th will be our Parent & Teacher Conferences as well as our Transition Night from 4:00 -6:00 pm.  Please sign up in advance and let your child’s teacher know if you would like to have a conference.  Transition night is when students get to meet the teachers for their next grade level and you can receive information for the next grade.  We hope to see you there.

On Friday, May 17th, our Kindergarten students will put on their Farms Exhibition which will be at 2:00 pm in the cafeteria.  Please make sure to bring your driver’s license or government ID to scan through our Navigate 360 system to ensure safety for students and staff.

Have a great evening and thank you for taking the time to read this message.
