Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week.  Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Shannon Millard.  Mrs. Millard goes above and beyond to help students and staff when they need it the most. She volunteers to help where she is needed. We are blessed to have her as part as our WOODSON WAVE family. Way To Go Mrs. Millard.

Shout outs to our Students of the Week- Gracie Bromley in 2nd grade and Cohen Kenney in 5th grade.  Gracie is a friend to all. She can always be counted on to be kind and helpful. She is a rockstar 2nd grader! Keep up the great work, Gracie!  Cohen embodies what it means to be a great student and friend. He actively participates in class discussions, shows kindness and respect to everyone, and always makes an effort to support his peers, ensuring that he contributes to every conversation. Way to go, Cohen!

All students in PreK-3 & PreK4 received a survey for families to fill out.  Please take the time to fill it out and return it by this coming Friday, November 15th.  Thank you for completing this.

Monday, November 11th is Veteran’s Day and we are honored to have some very special veterans visiting Woodson Elementary to read to our students.  The staff and students at Woodson Elementary are very grateful for all of our veterans, who served in the military.

Wednesday, November 13th is our School Improvement Team meeting, which begins at 5:00 pm.  Parents or guardians are welcome to attend.

Thursday, November 14th, we will have Coffee & Curriculum for 3rd Grade at 9:00 am and 4th Grade at 10:00 am.  Coffee & Curriculum sessions will be held in the cafeteria.  The purpose is for teachers to share what is upcoming in the curriculum.  Please make sure you bring your driver’s license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 System, to ensure student and staff safety.

Please join us Thursday evening, from 6-7:30 pm to engage with our new Superintendent, Dr. Tasker-Mitchell.  She would like to gain input from the community.  There will be a presentation and then break-out groups will follow.
