Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. Congratulations to our Staff Members of the Week- our First Grade Team; Mrs. Ashley Brewington, Mrs. Jennifer Carey, and Mrs. Heather Tyler. They are a role model group. They work well together, plan together, help one another when in need and teach their best so students are sure to have what they need for the next grade level. Way to go First Grade Teachers! You are phenomenal!
Congratulations to our Students of the Week, Zayn Harris in PreK-3 and De’Mari Price in 1st Grade. Zayn is a friend to all and is kind to everyone he may see. Zayn always tries to do his best no matter what we are doing and always uses his big words to express himself. De’Mari is a pleasure to have in class. He is a great listener and takes pride in his work. He is very respectful and kind to his classmates. This is awesome boys; we are so proud of you and all of your efforts to do your best!!!
School is closed tomorrow, Monday, February 17, in observance of President’s Day.
This week we will have our Scholastic Book Fair in our Media Center. Please make sure you returned the sheet authorizing who may bring your child to the book fair. If someone comes to school to take your child to the book fair and they are not on the list of authorized people or in Power School, you will not be permitted to take the child to the book fair. Students will be able to go to the book fair during their specials times.
Thursday, February 20th is a Casual Day to raise money for our Music Program, put on by Mrs. Jones. Students must pay $1.00 and staff $2.00 to participate.
Friday, February 21st is a school spirit day where students can wear their school spirit or house shirt with uniform bottoms only. Please be mindful that Fridays are the only days students can wear their Woodson T-shirts.
Thank to our Judy Center and Partners for putting on a wonderful Valentine’s Day Dance last week for our earliest learners. Thank you to the staff who volunteered their time. Fun was had by all.
The Judy Center will be hosting it’s annual Community Baby Shower on March 19th. Parents who are expecting a baby or who have a newborn up to 6 months old are invited to participate. Please reach out to the Judy Center for more information or to RSVP to participate.
