Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week.  Congratulations to our Staff Members of the Week; Mrs. Kristen Corbin, Mrs. Stephanie Cullen, and Ms. Meaghan Britton in Mrs. Bennett’s class.  They are willing to go above and beyond to make sure their students are well taken care of and continue to learn.  Way to go ladies!!!

Congratulations to our Students of the Week Alaya Jones and Dawson Nelson in 5th grade.  Alaya can always be relied on to demonstrate the Woodson Way every day.  Her dedication to learning, not only helps her succeed, but also supports her classmates.  She willingly steps up to help both her peers and teachers, making her a true leader in the classroom!  Dawson is being recognized as he is always someone you can count on to put a smile on your face and brighten your day!  His kindness and willingness to be a friend to everyone truly shine through, making him a joy to have in the classroom.  We are very proud of both of these 5th graders.

Thank you to everyone who came out last Thursday for Parent & Teacher conferences to talk about their child’s progress.

Tuesday, March 25th, we will have Coffee & Curriculum for Kindergarten at 10:00 am, Pre-K4 at 1:30 pm, and Pre-K3 at 2:30 pm.  All Coffee & Curriculum sessions are about upcoming curriculum and will be held in the cafeteria.  Please make sure to bring your license or government ID to run through our Navigate 360 system, which ensures safety for students and staff.

On Thursday, March 27th, we will have Coffee & Curriculum sessions for 1st grade at 10:00 am and 2nd grade at 1:45 pm.

On Friday, March 28th, we have Coffee & Curriculum sessions for 3rd grade at 9:00 am, 5th grade at 1:30 pm, and 4th grade at 2:30 pm.

****Parents, if you are interested in having your child attend STEAM night, which is April 3rd, please RSVP by this Tuesday, March 25th.  You must RSVP to reserve a science experiment and painting kit. This is also our Royal Engagement night, our Spring Family event. Hope to see you there.

Looking ahead to next week, Monday, March 31st, will be a free casual day for students and staff as it is the last day of the month.

On Tuesday, April 1st, 2nd grade is taking a field trip to Port Discovery.  The departure for the bus for that trip leaving Woodson Elementary will be at 6:30 am in the morning.  Parents or guardians will have to bring students to school on that morning.  Please ensure your child is here at few minutes prior to 6:30 am, so they don’t miss the bus for the field trip.  Students may dress in school appropriate casual attire that follows the county-wide dress code.  Students are expected to return between 4:00 and 4:30 pm.  They will also need to be picked up that afternoon from school, as they won’t be able to make their regular bus home.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a great evening.
