Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the upcoming week. Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Ms. Ana Tellez. Ms. Tellez is a paraprofessional in Kindergarten. She is the best of the best. She is always quick to step in with lessons/activities and does so with a smile on her face. She is a huge asset to our school, students, and community. Awesome work Ms. Tellez!!!
A huge hooray goes out to our Students of the Week: Niles Campbell in PreK-4 and Paxton Insley in 2nd grade. Niles follows directions every day, whether in class or virtually. He’s a kind friend to all of his classmates. He’s a wonderful Pre-K student. Paxton also follows directions everyday and helps others do the same. He is always willing to help and loves to learn. He’s a 2nd grade role model. We are so proud of both boys!!!
Monday, March 31st, is a free casual day for students and staff as it is the last day of the month. Please make sure your child is in school appropriate attire. If students choose to wear jeans, they cannot have any rips, holes, shreds, or shreds with patches behind them even if they were purchased that way.
This Tuesday, April 1st, 2nd grade is taking a field trip to Port Discovery. The departure for the bus for that trip leaving Woodson Elementary will be at 6:30 am in the morning. Parents or guardians will have to bring students to school on that morning. Please ensure your child is here a few minutes prior to 6:30 am, so they don’t miss the bus for the field trip. Students may dress in school appropriate casual attire that follows the county-wide dress code. Students are expected to return between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. They will also need to be picked up that afternoon from school, as they won’t be able to make their regular bus home.
Thursday, April 3rd will be a very exciting evening as we have combined our Royal Engagement event along with our STEM night Palooza. This will be at the school from 5-7:00 pm. Students will be able to make experiments and paint. Educational materials will be passed out and a light dinner will be served. We cannot wait to see everyone there.
Looking ahead to next week: Tuesday, April 8th marks the end of Quarter 3. There will be an early dismissal on Wednesday, April 9th beginning at 12:30 pm.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a great evening.
