Good afternoon, Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates.  Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Danielle Webster.  Mrs. Webster works in our Judy Center.  She is dedicated to providing a fun and enriching experience at every playgroup session and works hard to make sure that families have access to the resources they need.  Thank you, Mrs. Webster for all you do for our Judy Center.

Congratulations to our Students of the Week, both 5th grade young ladies, Rachel Harmon and Aubrey Stevens.  Rachel is a shining example in our 5th grade class.  She works hard, shows kindness to others, and always does the right thing with a smile.  Aubrey is a true friend to everyone, a positive role model, and gives her best effort in all she does-all wearing a bright smile.  Great job, girls!  We are proud of both of you!

We hope all the mothers, mother figures, and those who play the role of Mom, enjoyed their day yesterday.

WES will be having a perfect attendance incentive of an ice cream sundae party for any students who had perfect attendance from May 9th through June 9th.  We encourage students to attend school every day.

This Thursday, May 15th, 5th grade students will be going on a field trip to the Medieval Times.  5th Grade will be leaving at 6:30 AM on the day of the trip, so students should start arriving at the front of the school by 6:15.  A few things to keep in mind: Students can bring extra cash if they’d like to buy a souvenir or shop at the mall.  Casual clothes are fine, but outfits still need to follow the county dress code.  Phones, headphones, and tablets are allowed on the bus, but students are responsible for their own devices. If any device is used inappropriately, it’ll be held for the rest of the trip and returned to a guardian when we get back.  Sealed bottled drinks and snacks are okay for the bus ride. Please don’t send Stanley cups, cans, glass containers, or anything that could leak.  The approximate return home time is at 5:00 pm.  Parents and guardians should arrive at the school prior to 5:00 pm to pick their child up.

This Friday, May 16th is an early dismissal day for students.  Students will be dismissed from WES at 12:30 pm.  This is so staff can engage in Professional Development.  Quarter 4 midterms will also be handed out, so please be on the look out for them in your child’s backpack.

Looking ahead to next week; Monday, May 19th is the last day for Clubs for the school year.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and have a great evening!
