Somerset County Public Schools Fine Art Department cordially invites students, families, staff and the greater community to visit the 2024 SCPS Fine Art Festival. Student artwork will be on display at the Board of Education Office from April 29 - May 3, 2024, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Opening night, April 29, 2024 from 4:30 - 6:30pm, will feature performances by the SIS band and choir in front of the Board of Education building. This event is open to the public. Please stop in and view this year's county-wide exhibition of student artwork!


The Washington band is proud to congratulate Noah Vacca for making All-Shore Band! Noah got to travel to Easton High School to spend Friday and Saturday working under the Director of Bands from Stevenson University and got to give an amazing concert Saturday night! The band is proud of Noah for his achievement and for representing WAHS!

Due to this morning's hazardous weather and road conditions as well as the scheduled early dismissal, all classes will be conducted remotely as an asynchronous virtual school day. Assigned classwork must be turned in on Monday, April 15 for the student to be counted present in school unless other arrangements are made with the teacher. All after school activities are cancelled.

Due to flooding in Somerset County, our scheduled School Readiness Fair has been postponed to a future date. More information will be sent out soon concerning another future date for this event. If you need assistance registering your child for PK or Kindergarten, please contact your child’s home school.

The Washington High School band is excited to invite you to our Alumni Band Concert May 31st at 6pm! The featured piece of the concert is a brand new composition by WAHS alum Patrick Alexander which was written for this very concert! The ticket cost is donation only. Come out and hear band members from years past join together on one stage to celebrate the history of band at Washington High School!


Congratulations to Kylie Austin and being named WAHS Teacher of the Year! Ms. Austin is an amazing educator and person who always puts her students first. Every year, 80% or more of her students pass the state assessment which is a fact that is unheard of in many schools. She is very deserving of this award. Great job Ms. Austin! WAHS loves you!
