Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Wednesday, March 8th. Forms will be sent home with your students. If you do not receive a form by Friday, March 3rd, please contact your student's teacher.

Congratulation to our Woodson Wave. He completed Lexia by passing 21 levels. He is our second Woodson Wave to complete Lexia this year.

Good afternoon Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the week. A huge shout-out goes to our 4th grade teacher, Ms. Janise Bell. She is dedicated to the students she teachers in 4th grade. She also runs our after school tutoring program and does a fabulous job with it. Thank you Ms. Bell.
This week is our Book Fair week at WES and is through Scholastic Book Fairs. The book fair will be open daily as well as Thursday Night during our annual Royal Engagement Night from 5-7pm. Students are invited to visit the Book Fair during their specials each day. All checks should be made to Woodson Elementary School. Cash is also accepted. We also encourage you to check out the eWallet option which is available online. This allows your child to shop without worrying about losing their money. Don’t forget to include 6% sales tax for your purchase.
We will also be celebrating “Read Across America Week” at WES. We will have themed dress days, which are free. If students do not dress in theme, they should wear their uniforms. Monday, February 27th, “Hats off to Reading”- wear a favorite hat, hair accessory or crazy hair, with your uniform. Tuesday, February 28th, “Exercise Your Mind with Reading”, wear a sports shirt. Wednesday, March 1st, “Dress for Success”, Dress as your future career or wear college gear. Thursday, March 2nd, “Woodson is Wild about Reading”, Dress like an animal or wear animal print. Friday. March 3rd, “Favorite Character Friday”, Dress as your favorite book character! All days are optional.
Tuesday, February 28th, Junior Achievement will be visiting with our third grade students. On Wednesday, we welcome guest readers to read to our students in classes from Pre-K3 through second grade.
Thursday, March 2nd, will be our annual Royal Engagement. This year our theme is Heroes and Villains. Come out and see your favorite staff dressed up, play games, receive materials to take home, dinner will be pizza, cookie, and drink. Our event is completely free. Students may dress up to join in the fun. RSVPS were due on February 24th to your teacher. We can’t wait to spend time with your child and family!
Friday, we will celebrate students with good behavior during our February PBIS Incentive, which will be a silent disco and glow party.

Esta semana es nuestra Semana de la Feria del Libro en Woodson. La feria del libro estará abierta todos los días, así como el jueves por la noche durante nuestra Noche de Compromiso Real anual de 5 a 7 p. m. Los estudiantes están invitados a visitar la Feria del Libro durante sus especiales cada día. Se aceptan cheques, efectivo o pueden comparar por línea. También celebraremos la "Semana de lectura a través de América" en Woodson. Tendremos días de vestimenta temática, que son gratuitos. Jueves, 2 de marzo, ““Woodson está loco por la lectura”, vístase como un animal o use estampado animal. Viernes. 3 de marzo, "Viernes de personajes favoritos", ¡vístete como tu personaje de libro favorito! Todos los días son opcionales.
Martes, 28 de febrero,Logró juvenil visitará a nuestros estudiantes de tercer grado. El miércoles, damos la bienvenida a los lectores invitados para que lean a nuestros estudiantes en las clases desde Pre-K3 hasta segundo grado.
El jueves 2 de marzo será nuestro compromiso real anual. Este año nuestro tema es Héroes y Villanos. Venga y vea a su personaje favorito disfrazado, juegue, reciba materiales para llevar a casa, la cena será pizza, galletas y bebida. Nuestro evento es completamente gratuito. Los estudiantes pueden disfrazarse para unirse a la diversión. Las reservaciones para el evento se vencieron el 24 de febrero. ¡Los esperamos!

The School Improvement Team (SIT) would like to welcome parents to join our Break Out Groups on Wednesday, February 22th starting at 4:45. This time gives parents and guardians a chance to work together with teachers on subjects that affect our students. Please come join our Parent Involvement, PBIS, or Early Childhood break out group. Daycare will be provided for this meeting.
