
Happy Earth Day from Woodson! Shoutout to Miss Price and some 5th grade students who worked together to help clean up our school campus today! 🌎❤️



Mrs. Carey's class learned about moon phases using Oreo cookies. The kids were all engaged and even got to "eat the moon" 🌕 Way to go, first grade!











Band and Choir Updates for the week:
Tuesday, April 23rd- Choir Practice 4:05-5:00
Thursday, April 24th- All band members need instruments
Friday, April 25th- all trumpets, trombones, and percussion need instruments


Tomorrow, April 24th is a paid casual day to benefit the music department. Students may dress causal for $1.00 and staff $2.00. Please keep the county dress code policy in mind when choosing your favorite outfit.

This week students in the Cooking/Gardening Club made Easter peep parfaits for the staff. They also replanted their celery from the first after school session.








Our second graders took part in "Glow Day" this week! Shoutout to our amazing second grade team that works so hard to make learning fun for their students!

Kristen, 6th Grade Science Teacher from Somerset Intermediate School, has been named both the Secondary Teacher of the Year and the overall 2025-2026 Somerset Teacher of the Year! Her passion for teaching, unwavering commitment to her students, and ability to inspire excellence make her a shining example of the impact educators have every day.
We also proudly recognize Allison Grove, Elementary Teacher of the Year from Carter G. Woodson Elementary and this year’s outstanding finalist. Thank you both for your dedication to the students and families of Somerset County Public Schools!
