Is your student interested in after school clubs this year? Please be on the look out for the application packet sent home with students. Spots are filled on a first come first serve bases. Transportation will be provided.
Today, The Veggie Lady visited the kindergarten classrooms to read The Watermelon Seed, a fun book that complemented their learning about counting! After the story, students enjoyed a nutritious tasting of the last of the Eastern Shore’s summer produce—sweet corn and watermelon—and learned that frozen sweet corn is a delicious way to enjoy the taste of summer all year long. 🍉🌽

Maple Shade Youth and Family Services is offering a free, trauma-informed program for students who may be experiencing stress, behavioral concerns, or challenges related to difficult life events. The Bounce Back Program for K-5th grades implements an evidence-based approach designed to help children build coping skills and improve their overall emotional well-being.
Students participate in a small, supportive group led by a trained clinician meeting once a week for 10 weeks. Throughout the program, students are guided in understanding and managing their emotions, developing healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety, and building confidence in their ability to handle challenges. The group also supports the development of problem-solving skills and helps strengthen relationships with peers and family members. Sessions are structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate so that students feel both comfortable and supported as they learn.
Additional support can be provided if needed, and our team is available to help connect families with ongoing supportive services when appropriate. This program is well suited for students who have experienced stressful or overwhelming events, or who would benefit from additional social or emotional support.

5th grade Waves , would you like to join band this year? Come out Wednesday, September 9th at 5:00 pm. You will have the chance to hear about band, sign up, pick an instrument and our CAHS band members will join to demonstrate some of the instruments to choose from. For more information, please email Ms. Jones at kjones@somerset.k12.md.us.
