Woodson Families,
Due to potential weather-related issues next week, I wanted to share important information regarding Virtual Instruction. Students were sent home with devices today January 23.
I have included links and resources to help you prepare. For families who participated in Virtual Instruction last year, procedures will remain largely the same.
Virtual Instruction Schedule:
🕗 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Students are expected to be logged into their devices and ready to learn by 8:00 AM. If your student experiences difficulty logging in, please contact their teacher directly. Work will also be sent home in advance in case of connectivity issues.
Students are expected to complete and submit all assignments. If a student is absent during a virtual day, assignments must be turned in within two days of returning to school in order for attendance to be counted as present.
Please review the Virtual Day links on the SCPS webpage and schedule posted by your students teacher. Please assist your student with logging into their Google Meet on time. Prior to the virtual day, we recommend ensuring your student can access Google Classroom sometime over the weekend.
Thank you for your continued support.

Due to the potential for inclement weather from snow and ice, if school is closed, virtual learning will begin on Monday. Students will follow the virtual learning schedule on their teachers Google page and this same schedule will be used for each day that school remains closed.
Please review the following important reminders:
• Students must take their school-issued devices home on Friday to be prepared for virtual learning.
~ Virtual Classes will start at 8 AM. Log on through Clever.
• The virtual schedule will be posted in each student’s Google Classroom.
• Students should log in to Google Classroom for each class to access lessons, assignments, and meeting links. If students do not have a device they will be sent home with packets tomorrow.
• Attendance will be taken daily, just as it is during a regular school day.
• Students are expected to follow all school expectations for participation, behavior, and attendance during virtual learning.
If school remains closed for additional days, the same virtual schedule will continue to be followed.
If you have any questions or need assistance with technology, please contact the teacher of the classroom.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to ensure continued learning for our students.

One more day!!

Dear Wave Families,
January is a month filled with important diagnostic assessments for all students in grades K–5. These assessments help teachers accurately pinpoint student skills and make final instructional adjustments in preparation for the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) for students in grades 3–5, which will take place beginning in April.
MAP testing for both reading and math will begin in the coming days. These assessments are an important tool in understanding each student’s progress and instructional needs.
Please help support your child by ensuring they get a good night’s rest, arrive at school on time, and are encouraged to do their very best. Attendance is especially important during testing unless your child is sick.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our students succeed.
