Good Afternoon Wave families ,

Due to the potential for inclement weather from snow and ice, if school is closed, virtual learning will begin on Monday. Students will follow the virtual learning schedule on their teachers Google page and this same schedule will be used for each day that school remains closed.

Please review the following important reminders:

• Students must take their school-issued devices home on Friday to be prepared for virtual learning.

~ Virtual Classes will start at 8 AM. Log on through Clever.

• The virtual schedule will be posted in each student’s Google Classroom.

• Students should log in to Google Classroom for each class to access lessons, assignments, and meeting links. If students do not have a device they will be sent home with packets tomorrow.

• Attendance will be taken daily, just as it is during a regular school day.

• Students are expected to follow all school expectations for participation, behavior, and attendance during virtual learning.

If school remains closed for additional days, the same virtual schedule will continue to be followed.

If you have any questions or need assistance with technology, please contact the teacher of the classroom.

Thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to ensure continued learning for our students.

Before break, 5th grade GT students partnered up to design and build their very own parade floats, inspired by those seen in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and other holiday parades. Once their floats were officially “parade-ready,” students proudly walked them through the school, stopping by classrooms so students and staff could admire their creativity and hard work!

Dear Wave Families,

January is a month filled with important diagnostic assessments for all students in grades K–5. These assessments help teachers accurately pinpoint student skills and make final instructional adjustments in preparation for the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) for students in grades 3–5, which will take place beginning in April.

MAP testing for both reading and math will begin in the coming days. These assessments are an important tool in understanding each student’s progress and instructional needs.

Please help support your child by ensuring they get a good night’s rest, arrive at school on time, and are encouraged to do their very best. Attendance is especially important during testing unless your child is sick.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our students succeed.

Holiday
Good evening Wave Families!

In an effort to avoid the challenges we experienced last year during the extended weather-related closure, we will be sending student devices home over the holiday break. Devices will go home on Friday, December 19th and should be returned on January 5th, unless otherwise directed.

If your student will not be in attendance on Friday, December 19th, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office to make alternate plans for picking up the device.

Please note:

Students who have not yet returned a previously issued device or charger will not receive a new device at this time. Contact the school if you are having trouble locating the missing equipment.

Students who have not completed the Acceptable Use Agreement and/or Device Agreement paperwork will not be issued a device. Copies of these forms are available upon request.

All devices and chargers must be returned on the first day back from winter break.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.
