Last week, Airmen First Class Molly Dryden came to read to Mrs. Drydens Pre-K4 class in honor of Memorial Day. They talked about Memorial Day and then Molly talked about being in the Air Force. She read her favorite book when she was little, “ Pinkalicious”. This is the 2nd time she has read to their class. The first was during Veterans Day via Zoom. This time she met them in person! We are thankful for your service, Molly! You make us proud to call you at Woodson Elementary Alumni! 💙🌊

Congratulations to Liam in 5th grade for completing Lexia Core 5! We are so proud of you! 💙🌊

All students at WES got to participate in a special Farm to School event this week, tasting healthy parfaits made with fresh local strawberries from Butler's Farm Market and Orchard. Thanks to SCPS Food & Nutrition Services and Maryland SNAP-Ed for hosting this amazing event! Also a special shout out to Christine Main for all she has done for our students this year! We love you! 💙🌊

Cooking & Gardening Club members ended Session II by preparing and enjoying chicken nugget mashed potato bowls as something they could make for their lunch or dinner at home over the summer months. Members also transferred cucumber, pepper and broccoli plants the raised beds. They grew them over the past few months from seeds. Hopefully over the summer, we will reap the harvest!

Mrs. Nicole, with the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, came to visit today. She has come once a month all year long to provide nutrition lessons to students in Mrs. Miller’s classes. Today, she taught an interactive lesson showing students sugar contents in the things they drink. We thank Mrs. Nicole for all her engaging nutrition lessons this year!

Pre-K3 students in Mrs. Mariano's class took a field trip to Imagination Village!💙🌊

Our 5th graders went on a field trip to Medieval Times and then had the chance to explore Arundel Mills Mall! Shoutout to the 5th grade staff for making this fun field trip happen! 💙🌊

Did you forget to purchase Maui Jacks ticket? You have one LAST chance tonight during out Art, Transition, and Parent Teacher Conference. Please see Mrs. Parker at the sign in table. Please make sure you have exact change or a check made payable to Woodson Elementary School. We appreciate your support.
