Good afternoon Woodson Wave Families, this is Liz Berry with some updates for the coming week. Congratulations to Ms. Brittany Layton as our staff member of the week. Ms. Layton is a 2nd grade teacher and planned a day of glow fun for the entire 2nd grade. Thank you for all you do Ms. Layton. We would also like to congratulate Ayla Jones and Emma Crockett who won the 3rd grade GT challenge for the county as well as Emma Cain and Cambree Cox winners of the 4th grade GT Challenge. Also congratulations to our Kindergartner John Newton as he earned the 900th certificate in Lexia this year!
As a reminder there is no school for PreK-3 and PreK-4 students this coming Friday, March 31st as well Monday, May 22nd. This is because the PreK teachers are doing professional development on ELETRS on these days. This doesn’t affect any other grade levels.
This coming Friday evening, Mrs. Theresa Perdue, our Woodson Elementary TOY will be competing at the county level, for the overall Somerset County Public Schools Teacher of the Year title. We wish her the best of luck this Friday evening. We are already so proud of the wonderful caring educator she is.
If you are interested in ordering a school yearbook, the price is $12.00 and money is due in the office this Friday. If you pay by check, please make the check out to Woodson Elementary School.
Also, this Friday, will be a free casual day for students and staff as it is the last day of the month. Please make sure your child adheres to the casual day guidelines or they will be sent to the office to make a phone call to bring a change of clothes. As a reminder, jeans can be worn, but no holes, rips, shreds, or holes with patches behind them can be worn even if they were purchased that way.
Looking ahead to next week, there will be an early dismissal for all students on Thursday, April 6th at 12:30 pm, which begins the Spring Break and continues with schools being closed from Friday, April 7th through Monday, April 10th. Students will return on Tuesday, April 11th.
